Nature and Purpose
This award is given to individual(s) whose service is deemed
an outstanding example of Wesleyan/Holiness ministry. The
Wesleyan Theological Society grants this award periodically
to recognize individuals who embody the virtues associated
with excellence in Christian leadership in the Wesleyan/Holiness
tradition.
Criteria for Choice
Individuals whose ministry exemplifies in important ways
the orienting concerns and practices of Wesleyan/Holiness
tradition may be considered for this award. These concerns
and practices may include excellence in pastoral leadership,
preaching, counseling, ministry to the poor and disenfranchised,
encouraging theological exploration, missions, social activism,
Christian education, etc.
Process of Choice
Nominations may be made by any member of the Wesleyan Theological
Society, especially members living and ministering near the
site at which the individual nominated may be chosen for the
award. Those nominating possible award recipients must submit
a two-page application by email to the President or Vice-Presidents
of the Wesleyan Theological Society explaining why the candidate
should be considered for the award. Nominations must be submitted
by January 1, just prior to the annual March meeting. The

action to decide the award recipients by February 1 on any
given year. Candidates ministering within close proximity
to the meeting at which they may be honored will be given
preference.

Recipients of this award will be recognized formally at
the annual meeting of the Wesleyan Theological Society. Other
recognitions may be given as the Executive Committee determines
from year to year.
