The
Journal of Charles Wesley
Welcome
Welcome to the
Homepage of the Journal of the Rev. Charles Wesley. Charles Wesley
was the brother of the Rev. John Wesley and co-led what is now called
the Methodist Revival. Charles Wesley lived from 1707-1788.
He was born in Epworth, England and died in the city of London.
What has made Charles Wesley most know has been the over seven-thousand
hymns that he wrote throughout his lifetime. Many of Charles Wesley's
hymns are still sung in churches throughout the world.
The Wesley Center
for Applied Theology is proud to present to you the entire known manuscript
of Charles Wesley's Journal. We have given you the text of the
Journal put together by Thomas Jackson. The original work covered
two volumes and was first published in 1849. One should read the
entire Introduction written by Jackson
for a full history of this work of Methodist history. One will
notice that within the text not all dates are accounted for. This
is due to the fact that no manuscript for these times have been known
to exist.
The Wesley Center
is dedicated to the publishing and distribution of Wesleyan, and Wesleyan
related, material on the Internet, as well as our bi-yearly theological
conference held on the campus of Northwest
Nazarene University. Please feel free to visit our homepage
at http://wesley.nnu.edu for more
materials on the Wesleys, Methodist history, and Holiness Classics.
Grace and
peace,
